Intuition is a deep wisdom unique to each of us. Because it is independent from conscious reasoning, subtle, and directly connected to the unconscious, to access it intentionally we need to build bridges between unconscious and conscious.

How can we build bridges? Through the body and authentic expression.

The body and the unconscious store information from all our lived experiences. As we consciously engage the body in expression, the reservoir of memories, narratives, and feelings held becomes available for exploration.

“Creative intuition can be defined as a fleeting, holistic, and direct way of human knowing that gives rise to creative potential. It is the source of authentic creativity in that it arises from inner personal experience thereby giving rise to highly personal responses to the world.” - Theresa Jane Hardman, PhD

In this workshop, we will use somatics and expressive arts to enter an expanded state of consciousness and allow creative intuition to emerge and flow.

Through somatic and expressive movement woven together with process-oriented drawing and writing, you will be guided to generate creativity intuitively and integrate it with intellectual thought processes, creating authentic experiences of the unpredictable, openning yourself up to a fluid way of being, and experiencing new perspectives of relevant themes in your life.

Strengthening your creative intuition will help you to:

  • Gain confidence in your artistic voice
  • Take a step back from the controlling aspects of yourself
  • Build resources to meet the challenges blocking your creativity
  • Build resources to identify valuable ideas without relying on conscious thought
  • Expand consciousness, as conscious thought is limited to what you already know cognitively, and intuition is not
  • Invite mystery, surprise, and delight into your life
  • Have a pleasurable experience of your body and the power it holds

Included:

  • Drawing paper and oil pastels to be used during the workshop

Please bring:

  • Notebook and pen
  • Water bottle
