In our soft bodies
A day of somatic resourcing and creative expression through movement & expressive arts
Saturday, 3/21 | 10am - 5pm
We can't let loose
when our bodies are holding so much.
Our bodies signal that something needs attention through tense muscles, shallow breath, locked jaw, contracted belly, restlessness...
If we ignore the signs and don’t express what we feel and resource ourselves somatically, we can get locked in chronic tension, high alert, or collapse
In these states, it becomes really hard to relax, feel good, rest, think clearly, or have energy for what matters.
It becomes really hard to stay connected and responsive.
The Invitation
In Our Soft Bodies offers a breather from the constant input of information, inviting you to turn inward, tend to what your body is holding, and leave with more space, insight, and creative tools to use in your daily life.
You'll explore softness as a resource to stay grounded and responsive (rather than reactive) to what life brings - whether you’re navigating change, feeling collective uncertainty, or simply wanting to expand your capacity to be present in your body and life, even when things get hard.
We'll gather March 21st, right as spring arrives. This threshold between seasons invites us to practice our own transitions - allowing what's frozen to thaw and giving body to what wants to bloom.
Throughout the day, you'll be guided to:
- Explore softness as a felt, bodily experience, and a shared field of resilience we cultivate together
- Sense where your body is bracing, and how it might soften without losing strength
- Listen to what your body is holding and explore new, creative ways to relate with your own material
- Let movement, breath, sensation, emotion, and imagination circulate and guide you
- Explore being seen and sharing authentically with others, while cultivating personal space
- Experience how being together can build safety and support what wants to emerge
Grounded in the Tamalpa Life/Art Process®
This day-long practice weaves somatic movement, expressive arts, personal narrative, and relational exploration to support nervous system health, embodied awareness and insight, and collective care.
You're invited to experience softness not as something you "try to be," but as an embodied state that emerges naturally when the right conditions are present.
You'll work individually and in collaboration, exploring the stories your body wants to speak about hardening & softening, while also drawing on the resonance and support of others - a kind of cross-pollination that supports both individual and collective healing.

Who this is for:
Women (18+)
No experience needed. All levels welcome.

Ana Liz’s work as a somatic therapist and educator emerged from her own healing process, and gained new depth when she faced breast cancer at 36. This intimate encounter with her own fragility and life's unpredictability taught her that self-care is not about control or consumption, but rather a relational orientation with the body that holds memory, wisdom, and resources.
Today, her work centers the experiences of women, exploring the intersections between biography and cultural context. Working with individuals and groups, she offers pathways for healing, self-intimacy, and authentic living grounded in a somatic-based, creativity-filled, and depth-oriented approach.
